Data Breach Notification 2023

Dear CABAL: Return of Action Players,
ESTsoft Inc. is taking steps to notify its users of a recent breach of users email address data. On August, 3rd 2023 we experienced an email address leak wherein roughly 1,130 email addresses were erroneously provided to our users who signed up to participate in our Pre-Registration for our new title CABAL: Return of Action. We will be contacting you via email if you were affected.
What Happened and who was involved?
On August, 3rd 2023 we experienced a system error where 1,130 email addresses for our Closed Beta campaign participants were provided to one of our inactive mailing lists. Other than email address, no other such user information was leaked at this time.
If you received an email notifying you of this event, it means that your email address was one of the email addresses affected with this incident. If you did not receive this email, you were not affected.
What are we doing
We are adding measures to protect our users from misuse of this information on our own website. As well as evaluating our internal procedures to improve security and prevent similar incidents from happening again. We already have a policy of keeping as little data as possible and we will continue to look for new ways to minimize our data collection.
